Fresh Thoughts

Fresh Thoughts is a booklet for anyone suffering domestic abuse and entering the justice system. It brings together information on how the justice system works, how to stay safe online and useful organisations to contact. It is designed to be used by support workers with victims, but is stand alone for anyone to read and follow.

The PDF version can be downloaded here: Wiltshire Domestic Abuse booklet but hard copies are also available. Please email FreshThoughtsWilts@gmail.com if you would like a supply.

If you download a copy, please check back regularly to make sure you have the latest version. The current version is Version 1 printed November 2025.

Background

The booklet was first launched by SI Poole and District and has now been adapted by many counties and districts around the UK.

The copyright of Fresh Thoughts has now been transferred to SI Salisbury.

Praise from Home Office Minister Jess Phillips MP

A delegation from SI Salisbury met Jess Phillips MP at the Home Office to discuss the Fresh Thoughts booklet. The Minister was already aware of the project, as mentioned by John Glen MP in Parliament shortly after its launch in Salisbury. She commended the work of Soroptimists in general and expressed the hope that this booklet would be made available nationally.

The Wiltshire version was launched on 27 November 2025.
