On the buses!

Saturday  25 Oct – Club Outing – London Transport Museum

Sam Mullins, Director of the London Transport Musuem took us on a fascinating tour of the musuem and the current exhibition “Goodbye Piccadilly: From Home Front to Western Front”  www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/exhibitions with a focus on the role of women during WW1. There were 14 of us in total – including three husbands, 1 mum and a daughter. There was much hilarity when Janet’s daughter Kyra donned a uniform next to these words “female railway guard 1917 – for safety reasons the skirts were shorter than usual and included knee length knickers tucked into boots preventing any flesh from being revealed”!
