Orange the World is a United Nations campaign to highlight the blight of violence against women and girls. There are 16 Days of Action against Gender Based Violence, starting on 25 November, the International Day to end violence against women.
What can I do to support the Orange the World Campaign?
- If you are a business whose premises are lit up, use an orange filter to make the lights orange – and tell your workers and customers why you are doing it.
- If you are a member of a group (choir, team, church, walking group etc), get everyone to dress in or carry something Orange and take a photo
- If you are involved with young people (teenagers), especially boys, run a project/session to discuss healthy relationships.
- If you are a shop, café or pub, put a supportive poster in your window and inside perhaps with some Orange bunting.
- If you rent out premises, put up a poster to show your support
- If you support the campaign as an individual , take a snap of yourself wearing Orange
- These are just some ideas. Be inventive!
Importantly, send everything to us at sistalbans@hotmail.com . We are Soroptimist International St Albans and District and we are spearheading this campaign – click here for more: https://sigbi.org/st-albans/orange24
