August 15th was the 10th anniversary of the Forget me Knot, a Dementia support group who meet on the 3rd Monday of the month in Kirkby in Ashfield. SI Mansfield and District are on hand to serve refreshments to the Service users and their carers. Advice and support is on the menu as well as beverages and cakes.The group has gone from strength to strength.
Homemade sandwiches, savouries and cakes made by the Soroptimist were much appreciated by all, at the anniversary Tea Party
A vote of thanks was given to Nicky Hawley who organises the refreshment rota and she received a handmade card displaying forget me knots thanking her for all her hard work.
We also volunteer at the Alzheimer’s group in Mansfield at the Tower sand for’ Singing for the Brain’ at the MIND headquarters on a monthly basis
