Mary’s meal’s is a global movement that sets up school feeding projects in some of the worlds poorest communities where hunger and poverty prevent children from getting an education. A meal is provided daily in a place of learning to attract chronically poor children into a classroom where they will receive an education that can, in the future be their ladder out of poverty. Very often families cannot afford to buy the basic school materials, like pencils and copy books or even suitable clothes for their children to wear to school and these children miss out on an education and this is where ‘The Backpack Project’ helps. SI Mansfield and District have provided and filled 67 backpacks with educational supplies and school clothing.
