As a club we have been working with Women’s Refuge for too many years. We do find this dissappointing because it means that the domestic abuse continues generation after generation. Right from the beginning members have supplied gifts of clothing adult & kiddies, toiletries and toys etc. at regular intervals, throughout the year. At our dinner meetings 2 of our members run a ‘community stall’, selling paperback books which are usually recycled to provide more income. Members will bring in plants, jams and other goods to sell as well. This money help us to provide regular packages which we give to the ladies containing personel items, and when the time comes and they are rehoused, we provide exit packages containing cleaning materials etc.
