DO YOU WANT TO SEE THE WORLD AND EARN GOOD MONEY?
A better life, an education, a good job and a loving relationship are all enticing promises. But things aren’t always what they seem.
STOP THE TRAFFIK and United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) have teamed up and created the GIFT box.
GIFT box is a unique way to raise awareness about human trafficking and gather knowledge on the issue. The large walk-in street sculptures invite you inside with promises and offers, but once inside you are presented with a different reality.

The GIFT box Global journey
The GIFT box is a unique project launched by STOP THE TRAFFIK and UN.GIFT during the London 2012 Olympics. Around the world, STOP THE TRAFFIK has partnered with local and national organisations and government departments to build more GIFT boxes and the project has been rolled out in Brazil, the USA, Slovakia, Haiti and Canada. GIFT box successfully delivered large-scale awareness raising; introduced over 55,000 people in approximately 100 locations across 6 countries to the issue of human trafficking and inspired them to take further action.
Over 1,500 volunteers have been trained and staffed the boxes. These volunteers have become advocates for the prevention of human trafficking and engaged thousands of members of the public to join the fight. People have found that the GIFT box is a place to talk about how they themselves have been trafficked, their concerns about suspected victims of trafficking and even conversations that we hope will lead to international trafficking rings being disrupted.
