On March 8th, members of SI Newcastle are: attending Canning Street Primary School to visit the children and see the results of their challenge to the Year 6 pupils to represent, in either words or artwork, a woman who has inspired them. Later, others are attending West End Women and Girls’ Centre to join with them as they light up their building with the opening of the 40 Women and Girls exhibition, book launch and a series of large-scale projections onto our building supported by the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. Finally, some members are attending the Tyne to Stand Up Comedy Gala in aid of Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland. Rie Pearson (author of ‘Be Kind.No Excuses’) has also invited us to join a Live online Summit where we have ladies coming onto the BKNE page from all over the world to discuss this years’ subject Break the Bias.
