At our last meeting we had Amanda Pirie, Development Librarian from the AK Bell Library to give us a most interesting talk about all the fantastic free Library facilities that can be accessed over the internet in the comfort of your own home.
These included e-books, e-music, audio-books, e-magazines, e-reference (including the Driving Theory Test, The Oxford Dictionary, The Encyclopaedia Britannica and much more). Amanda also showed us how you can search the library catalogue and reserve books to be picked up at a convenient library and how access SCRAN which is a database of 360,000+ images & media from museums, galleries, archives which you can view and also make calendars and cards for your own use from the pictures. We will all be making much more use of the on-line resources that the Library supply, free of charge, from now on.
