Club members met up in Club Treasurer Bernie’s lovely garden for a social event with a purpose. Their mission? To sort, count and pack the hundreds of bra and knicker donations gathered from the generous ladies of Salisbury for shipping to Smalls for All. The donated pre-loved but lightly used bras and new knickers are shipped to a variety of areas in Africa, where, the charity has found, underwear gives women dignity and self worth and can protect them from assault.

In this, the fourth year of collecting lightly used bras, Salisbury Soroptimists almost doubled their total collected to date with a record 2000+ bras donated by local ladies.
The job of sorting and packing was made more pleasant with a glass of Pimm’s or wine to help the work.
Members enjoyed the chance to get together to socialise again – socially distanced – while knowing their efforts are improving the lives of women in other parts of the world. Thanks to Barbara for the great photos and to Bernie for the hospitality!
