Southport Soroptimists were flushed with success recently when they donned toilet suits in Tesco in to collect money for WaterAid and local charities. A total or £286 was collected. We were also able to raise awareness of Soroptimism and what we do.
We are very grateful to the community team at Tesco for their support and hospitality.
WaterAid is President Janet’s charity A cheque for £500 was sent to the charity from this and other fundraising activities and this will be doubled by the UK government to £1000. SI Southport have already sent a further £500 to WaterAid in response to their Emergency aid appeal for Rohingya refugees in Bangledesh.
