Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid (SWACA)

Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid (SWACA) is an organisation dedicated to safeguarding women, children, young people and vulnerable adults to survive the impact of domestic violence and the effects of domestic abuse.

Their skilled team of caseworkers provide free practical and emotional support for women and children to talk about their worries and concerns relating to domestic abuse. Their support can be given by phone, in person, in school, in the workplace, in Children’s Centres or in our Centre. A range of strategies can then be offered to help women understand their situation and offer practical support.

Women can refer themselves or be referred by a friend, a family member or other agency. SWACA’s services are offered regardless of age, disability, sexuality, race or religion.

SI Southport has, for many years, supported SWACA both financially and in practical ways.

Neil Frackelton, the current CEO, has spoken to us and was presented with a substantial cheque at a recent meeting. We also regularly provide toiletries, bedding, towels, toys and clothing for the Refuge. The packing of the toiletry bags has become a twice yearly event and is enjoyed by several of our members.

Please see SWACA’s website for more information.
