Each year, a regional bowling tournament is held, open to all SI clubs in the South Lancs region. In 2018, SI Southport entered their team and were runners-up.
On Sunday 9 September 2018, a very cold and windy day with heavy rain during the afternoon, five members entered the Singles competition at Pennington Park, Leigh. Although we did not win we had a wonderful day of fun and friendship.
One of our newest members of the club, Joan Hardwick, who was also new to bowling, joined the team. She played very well during the various games and qualified for entry into the Singles. On the day she was supported by her husband and family. Husband Colin turned up trumps with his encouragement as you can see from the photograph.
