The East Midland national Flower Arranging Society held their competition at Hardwick Hall this year and Mansfield & District SI help sponsor this event, we therefore decided that our annual Summer outing would coincide with this spectacular. The skill and the artistic arrangements blended in exquisitely with the Elizabethan Hall and I’m sure ‘Bess’ would have been impressed. In the grounds and inside the hall flowers were displayed. Competition was fierce and the judges must have had a difficult job deciding on the winners. The Hall and grounds were explored by members and their guests. The sun shone throughout the visit and to round off the day we had tea at The Hardwick Inn which is situated in the grounds.
