Merci Malaysia UK has been fundraising for both UK and overseas – natural or man-made disasters. They raised approx. £1k for Yorkshire flood victims and similar amounts for Syrian refugees in Nottingham. They have also helped vulnerable people in Nottingham with food parcels. They were launched in Sept 2014 and have 4 unpaid trustee, Ranji is one of them. They have one part-time paid staff.
Ranji is off to Lebanon on a mercy mission in the Mercy Malaysia camp where they provide water, medicines and sanitation to all but especially the children as many of them are orphans. The UK government is second largest donor in the world for people in camps and they are doing their bid as an international non-governmental organisation, UK registered charity reg no: 1155997. Ranji also mentioned that her past mission trips to the Philippines after typhoon Haiyan and Bandar Aceh after 2004 horrendous Tsunami. They venture to any countries that needs them regardless of race & religion of that nation. They are currently doing a lot of mission activities in over 19 countries. Whilst after any initial disaster they send doctors and nurses first follow by multidisciplinary team. They stay for long periods well after the natural disasters sometimes for years. Their non-governmental organisation is run mainly by volunteers.
