Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls with nearly 72,000 Members in 121 countries. Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) has 7000 Members in 320 Clubs in 29 countries including Great Britain, Ireland and countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Malta, who work at a local, national and international level to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls.
Soroptimist International Southport is part of this world-wide organisation – not only are you a member of a club, you will also be a member of the South Lancashire region and of SIGBI.
Many congratulations to Lisette Muddiman on her election in April 2025 as the President of Soroptimist International Southport. Lisette is originally from Mauritius and hopped between France and Switzerland, sprinkled some wisdom in the world of education, and finally landed in Southport in 2018 to be near the grandkids and the Lake District. The grandkids have since relocated… but Lisette is here and staying!
She has lots of ideas to bring to the club, enabling all members to work towards the objects of Soroptimist International – whilst having fun and friendship along the way. For her fund-raising and awareness activities, Lisette is focussing on endometriosis – awareness of the disease and the support for those living with it. As her predecessors, she is hoping to encourage more new members to the club and to the world of Soroptimism.
