In Spring 2021 SI Surrey Hills signed up to the Easy Fundraising initiative, to raise money for overseas projects using our online purchases. The Club receives up to 5% of the money members spend but at no cost to themselves!!
Since that time, we have funded eight latrines in conjunction with Toilet Twinning. They are in Malawi (2), Pakistan, Nepal, Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and very smart they look too!
This project directly supports UN Sustainability Goal 6 – Clean water and sanitation – the lack of which disproportionately affects women and girls in developing economies.
These latrines are in addition to the school toilet block in Rumphi District, Malawi, which we funded in July 2019.
