57th Charter Dinner

Friday 10th October, saw 80 guests and members attend, for the celebration of 57 years since the Mansfield & District Club of S.I. was Chartered. The venue was the popular Hostess Suite, Sookholme, and a delicious 3 course meal was served, by efficient and skilled young staff. Entertainment, which followed the customary speeches, was provided by Brunts Academy Swing Band, with a couple of talented young female vocalists providing solo spots. Tributes for the success of the evening were paid by President Sue Mosley, to Charter Dinner secretary, Ms. Eileen Stewart, and Mrs Ann Sale, Floral arrangements by, Mrs Anne Bull, Toast Master, Mrs Rita Hallsworth, Guest Speakers, Mr Peter Allan and Mr Peter Challis, to all the Management and Staff at the Hostess, and not least to the Brunts Swing Band. Regional President for Midlands East S.I., Mrs Elaine Macdonald, told guests that this was her third Mansfield Charter Dinner, she had attended and how she always enjoyed it, and was impressed with the number of people there. Sue praised the members for their stirling efforts in the last year, raising funds and sending pack packs for ‘Mary’s Meals’, a project also chosen by her own Club at Buxton
