Anniversary of the 1989 Montreal Massacre observed as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada
#16daysofactivism reminds us of the day when 14 women students were murdered for being women who were progressing to be engineers. Soroptimists worldwide reflect on this act of misogyny that revealed a rigid mind set uncomfortable with women progressing into non-traditional roles. 31 years later we remember and regret that despite feminist progress misogynist attitudes towards them remain.
