In the height of the Covid pandemic we
wanted to do something for patients suffering from Covid-19 at the
Royal Surrey County Hospital and their families. So we began knitting and sewing little hearts for giving to patients and their loved ones.
The idea behind this initiative was that the hearts were made in identical pairs.
One was given to the patient in hospital and the other to their family to take home. In this way family members had something tangible to help them through that difficult time.
We made over 30 pairs which were safely wrapped up for giving to patients when they were admitted. We hoped it wouldn’t be too long before the two hearts were united.
