Is Surrey Safe for Women? Conference 2024

On Wednesday 20 November 2024 Surrey Soroptimists will be hosting a one day conference to explore the safety of women and girls living and working in Surrey.

 

We’ll examine 4 key areas, hear from keynote speakers and learn about best practice ideas and tools we can apply to make Surrey safer.

If you are an NGO, charity, business or organisation who works with, supports, or has an interest in preventing violence against women and girls, this event is for you.  You will come away with an understanding of what is already happening across Surrey, information on areas that still need improvement, and critically meet a network of influencers you can work with alongside a toolkit of ideas and actions to help make further improvements in our area.

This conference marks the start of an on-going project to look at the ways we can work across groups to make Surrey safer. The conference is the first step, bringing people together to learn, discuss and commit to actions and improvements across the county.  Violence against women and girls has recently been described as ‘a national emergency’ and Surrey Soroptimists are committed to bringing improvements to our region.
