Welcome to Soroptimist International of Bingley (SI Bingley)

SI Bingley extend a warm welcome to any woman living or working in Bingley and the surrounding area to come along to one of our meetings and consider joining us and working on projects to benefit women and girls locally, nationally and globally. SI Bingley is one of the 25 clubs within the Yorkshire region. It was chartered in 1949 and has been an active club within the Bingley area since then. Women are welcomed from all walks of life and this brings richness and diversity to the club.

Our activities range from the light-hearted to the serious and meaningful, from listening to giving, making to campaigning, sharing to caring, accompanied in true Soroptimist fashion by good food, friendship and fun!

SI Bingley celebrates 70 years of service!

Members of SI Bingley were delighted to present £1150 to Federation President Sue Williams for the Diamond Education Grant at their 70th Celebration evening on April 27th 2019, almost exactly 70 years after the Club was first chartered in the town. This will provide an opportunity for women and girls to access STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) projects to further their education and job opportunities, linking with our current two year theme of ‘The Power of the Second Chance’ which is especially relevant to disadvantaged women and girls.

The money was raised through sponsoring SI Bingley member, Margaret Bromley, who, with her husband John cycled 70 miles over two days along local canals and waterways and also from donations from two link Friendship Clubs in Lecco, Italy and Canterbury, England.
