SI Bingley celebrate the 20th Charter Anniversary of SI Brasov, Romania

English was the common language as Soroptimists from 8 countries joined SI Brasov in celebrating their 20th Charter Anniversary. They came from Denmark, (which has very close historic links with Soroptimism in Romania), Belgium, Germany, Austria, Moldova, (the poorest country in Europe), Israel and, of course, Romania and the UK.
SI Brasov had organised a weekend of celebrations including a concert in a cave, a tour of Rasnov Castle, a presentation of Brasov’s achievements over the past 20 years including photographs of Prue and Maggie with Rodica, at SI BIngley’s 50th charter event and of SI
Bingley and SI Brasov at the International Convention in Montreal.

There was much fun, food and friendship and wonderful hospitality.

Because I was the only member of SIGBI present, I was given the honour of lighting the candle to Soroptimist International and of joining guests at the top table. Altogether a very memorable weekend.
