Led by member Daphne, Guildford and District Soroptimists were delighted to forward funds to the Phoenix Project in Ecuador (thephoenixprojects.org/countries/ecuador). The Phoenix Project provides education for school children, by employing local teachers and by feeding the children whilst at school. They also provide classroom support. The funds we provided were used within Project Moo for the purchase of a cow. The milk from the cow is used to provide an income for the purchase of school materials. We were very pleased to support this project which links closely to the Soroptimist goal to increase access to education and leadership for women and girls.
