Fuel for Schools Project
A little over a year ago a dream was voiced. Well, whispered. A vision of creating a community kitchen within the unused shell of the decommissioned kitchen at Trinity All Saints CE Primary School.
One year on – a year of sponsored walks, bid writing, fund raising evenings – that dream is coming to fruition as a result of determination and good luck. In the style of the TV programme, a builder, an electrician and a plumber are donating their labour for free. The design is agreed and the kitchen will open with great publicity in the Autumn of 2018.
SI Bingley are supporting this venture in partnership with the school, Holy Trinity Church and Fuel For School. In the next year our efforts will enable countless vulnerable families to access quality food and cookery lessons. It will prevent good food being sent to landfill and contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions into our environment. It will support the Together Women Project by giving life skills and resources to the women involved.
More than anything else, the kitchen will inspire people in unforeseen ways as depicted in the photographs above where 2 pupils are included on the Fuel For School bus leading the Tour De Yorkshire.
If you would like to be inspired, join us on our journey and create a living dream in Bingley.
