SI Bingley Backpacks for Mary’s Meals

SI Bingley sent 10 packpacks to the Mary’s Meals project in September 2015 containing a variety of equipment for use in African classrooms and also for children’s personal care. Items were collected and donated by members each month and local businesses donated backpacks. A local Children’s Centre donated a sack of flip-flops which was surplus to requirements.
Members had a fun evening collating the backpacks which was the culmination of an interesting year of Programme Action for the group. Their next challenge was to develop a social evening for the club based around theme of ‘World Porridge Day’ held in October 2015.
