Members of S I Bingley were delighted to hear that one of their service projects – Bingley Community Kitchen has been recognised by both Rotary International and Soroptimist International.
On 24 June, Member Chris Clark received Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellow Certificate of Appreciation from local President Michael Heaton, Rotary International are one of the many partner organisations.
In Soroptimist International’s report to the United Nations High-Level political forum, ‘Intersecting Crises – How Soroptimist International is lifting women and girls out of poverty around the world, Binlgey Community kitchen is mentioned under Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger ( page 16)

Bingley Community Kitchen began with a desire to help needy families to eat nutritious meals through the “Cook and Eat” sessions organised during the Summer Holidays. It is now developing into a space where families on a low income can learn and explore the world of food as well as find meals that are quick, easy and healthy.
