The Conference Committee are delighted to have secured the ACC in Liverpool as the 2018 venue. The ACC is a modern purpose-built Conference centre with ample space for the Exhibition and coffee area. Liverpool benefits from a large variety of hotels, many close to the venue.

Situated on the waterfront close to the iconic Liver Building and Albert Dock the ACC is in a prime location. Our challenge now will be to bring you a conference that keeps you in the ACC rather than the surrounding attractions. Liverpool was the European Capital of Culture in 2008 and in July 2017 the Round the World Clipper Race started from the Albert Dock.

President Susan’s theme of Empower Today – Enable Tomorrow will be reflected in the choice of speakers. Our aim is to give you food for thought, alternative approaches and encompass so much of what Soroptimism is all about.

Have you thought of helping out by becoming a Steward? 

Helping to make a Conference successful is a rewarding experience. It also offers new experiences and skills, as well as providing a great opportunity to meet many fellow Soroptimists. As a volunteer, it is very much appreciated that you give your time freely and the Conference should then prove to be as enjoyable for the stewarding team as it is for everybody else.

There are many roles to fill – from meeting and greeting, facilitating registration, helping at the opening and closing ceremonies, directing delegates to the correct areas, assisting with the exhibition areas, helping with special needs, administering the AGM, ensuring a smooth flow of delegate traffic at all times – the list is a long one.

We need Bloggers who will each blog on a session at conference – don’t worry if you haven’t blogged before, we’ll provide you with full guidelines.

Social Media Champions
After the success of last year we are again looking for Social Media Champions. Are you confident using social media? You could help us by being one of our Social Media Champions and pledging to be active on social media throughout conference, our focus being Facebook and Twitter. If you’re new or a little rusty using social media you could use this as an opportunity to gain more confidence. It would be amazing to get more Social Media Champion volunteers this year and build on the momentum of last year.
