Soroptimists Getting Together

Soroptimist clubs finding different ways to conduct meetings virtually

SI Chester & District – We inducted our first new member this year, Pat Higgins on Monday via Zoom. What an achievement and such a good idea. Welcome Pat, I am sure she will remember this night for a long time.

SI Runcorn/Frodsham – An AGM like no other, but it went well. At 8pm we all left to ‘Clap for Carers’ returning to finish the meeting. We made the decision to support our local charity “Sew Halton” who are making items for the NHS Reports were daccepted Officers elected and our flexibly managed club will go into next year with a flexibly managed programme given the current situation.

SI Bebington held the club AGM via PowWow. They have worked as a team to produce a video celebrating VE Day

SI Bangor and District  – held our first AGM and first meeting using Zoom. 16 members connected and some could hear by telephone and we had buddies for everyone else.

SI Nantwich and District are holding Social Meeting via Zoom, and enjoying true Soroptimist Friendship

SI Rhyl & District have had three Zoom meetings to keep in touch. It was agreed at our first meeting that due to the current increase in domestic violence we would ask club members to donate money to buy food vouchers for the Women’s Refuge in Rhyl.

SI Llandudno held their first Zoom Officers’ meeting Thursday 7th May which was very successful.  The minutes were circulated to all members to keep them in the picture.  Another Zoom meeting is planned for June.
