TreeSisters – Women seeding change
TreeSisters is a grass roots Bristol, UK based charity run by women focused on encouraging women to take a leading role in the restoration of the planet.
At TreeSisters 80% of your donation goes directly into funding tropical reforestation. They currently fund 10 ethical, community focused planting projects in Brazil (Atlantic rainforest and the Amazon), Cameroon, Nepal, India, Kenya, Mozambique, West Papua and Madagascar. They have plans to expand our reforestation portfolio to a project in Borneo this year.
They fund reforestation through carefully vetted projects that expand natural forest cover and aim to avoid further deforestation. They also ensure that, through reforestation, they improve local community livelihoods and focus on participation from local women with a view to increasing gender parity.
